Babcock University welcomed officials of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF), led by Dr. Adesoji Tayo, on a courtesy visit to the Directorate of Student Activities. The delegation conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Adeoti Tayo Table Tennis Hall as part of preparations for the upcoming National Table Tennis Tournament, scheduled to be hosted by the University later this year. The inspection exercise focused on evaluating the hall’s readiness, suitability, and capacity to host a sporting event of national significance. The visit underscores the growing recognition of Babcock University as an emerging hub for sports development and national sporting engagements. Speaking during the visit, Dr. Tayo commended the University’s commitment to promoting athletics alongside academics, noting that the institution’s facilities demonstrate potential to meet national standards. He emphasized that the forthcoming tournament would not only spotlight table tennis talent across Nigeria but also reinforce Babcock University’s role in advancing sports excellence. The Directorate of Student Activities expressed readiness to collaborate with the NTTF to ensure a successful tournament, highlighting the University’s dedication to fostering holistic student development through sports and recreation.
