Babcock University has recorded another notable student achievement as Otaiku Rebecca, a 400-level student of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, emerged Second Runner Up at the Prof. Rasaki Sanni Oratory Competition.

The competition, organised by the Nutrition and Dietetics Students Association of the University of Ibadan, brought together students from the University of Ibadan, the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), and Babcock University.

Rebecca's performance stood out for her ability to communicate her ideas with confidence and clarity, demonstrating the value of effective expression alongside academic knowledge.

For students, opportunities such as inter-university competitions provide an avenue to test knowledge, develop new skills and engage with perspectives beyond their immediate academic environment.

Through participation in intellectual and professional activities, Babcock students are encouraged to develop competencies that complement their academic training. Public speaking, critical thinking, teamwork and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively are increasingly important skills for graduates navigating professional and social environments.

Rebecca's achievement illustrates how such experiences can translate classroom learning into practical competence and confidence.

The Prof. Rasaki Sanni Oratory Competition also provided a platform for students from different institutions to exchange ideas and engage in healthy academic competition.

For Rebecca, representing Babcock University on such a platform offered an opportunity to demonstrate not only her knowledge of her discipline but also her ability to present ideas persuasively before a diverse audience.

The achievement speaks more of quality education, particularly its emphasis on developing relevant knowledge and skills that prepare learners for life and work.

For Babcock University, these experiences contribute to a broader educational environment in which students are encouraged to grow academically, personally and professionally.

Congratulations to Otaiku Rebecca on this commendable achievement. Babcock University celebrates her success and looks forward to seeing her continue to excel in her academic and professional journey.
