In partnership with Operation Smile Outreach programme for the vulnerable, a US-based non-profit organization, United Helping Hearts donated reading glasses to ease the financial burden of people with visual challenge.
“Although our main headquarters is in Houston, Texas, our work extends far beyond the shores of the US reaching countries in Africa,” said the CEO of the United Helping Hearts, Mrs. Bucky Abar.
Operation Smile is a Babcock Pioneer Church Children’s ministries initiative to reach less privileged children within our host community, Ilishan-Remo with clothing, warm meals and gifts.
Last week, Operation Smile programme coordinators, represented by Ms. Josephine Akarue and Mr John Eleweke presented over 100 pairs of reading glasses to the Babcock University Teaching Hospital, Ophthalmology Department.
