Objectives of the PGD Program
To create opportunity for graduates and professionals in other closely related disciplines to transit to computing and Information Technology areas so as to advance their knowledge of computing to their discipline and other facets of human endeavor.
Objectives of the Programme
The goals of the computer department are to prepare students for graduate training in some specialized area of computer science, to prepare students for jobs in industry, business or government; and to provide support courses for students in engineering, mathematics and other fields requiring computing skills.
PHILOSOPHY
The programmes in the department are based on the philosophy that the rate of technological development of a nation depends to a great extent on the size, quality, motivation and orientation of its science and engineering workforce. It is clear that the computer is playing a major role in technological advancement of any nation in this millennium and this will depend largely on the quality and quantity of electronic and computer scientists.
