President-VC Pledges Support For ICAN

President/Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ademola Tayo has pledged his administration’s continued support for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). 

He made this remark while welcoming the ICAN leadership led by its Vice President, Chief Davidson Alaribe to the 9th international academic conference on accounting and finance (hybrid) held in Babcock.

The ICAN conference themed,  “Building a Virile Economy through Industrial Revolution, Technology Advancement and Creative Capacity Development", is in collaboration with Babcock University and African Accounting and Financial Association (AAFA). 

Prof. Tayo noted that Accounting remains one of BU’s signature programmes as he commended the ICAN leadership for the healthy relationship with Babcock.

“There is no time we had inaugural lecture involving faculty members of the Accounting department that ICAN had not showed up in solidarity and financial,” he stated.  

Prof. Tayo pledged that Babcock would give maximum support to ensure that the “conference ends well.”

In response, Chief Alaribe expressed his appreciation and noted that the Vice Chancellor’s willingness to deliver the keynote address underscored a shared commitment to nurturing intellectual discourse and academic excellence.

“On your guidance, Babcock University will continue to be a beacon of hope for generations unborn,” he said.
