Executive Summary
The department of marketing and communications was created in 2013. The department exists to present the Babcock story and maintain the image of the University in a compelling manner so as to enhance its brand equity and stay ahead of competitors in the area of student enrolment, staff recruitment and access to critical resources. To achieve this, the department shall develop and implement an integrated marketing plan massive enough to get our stakeholders speak a common and uplifting language in all the areas of interest that concern the University. The department is a full-service marketing, communication, branding, media and technology department that partners exclusively with BU schools, divisions, college, departments, and units. We do all that it honestly takes to achieve results. We are integrated, agile, and ready to tell your story from every angle and through every media vehicle.

The department’s role in relation to overall University goal
Accurate information dissemination is critical in achieving the University’s overall goal of commitment to core values, efficiency and leadership training. This department runs on this principle by working around existing framework to ensuring positive results.
The department’s focus is on the University brand, attracting high achieving and diverse students/faculty, building and increasing University/Industry Partnerships, Positioning the University to receive improved philanthropic support for her vision and mission, and enhancing public awareness, appreciation, and accessibility.
This department is the gatekeeper of the university’s brand architecture. Indeed the implementation of the BU brand architectonics is driven through the graphics and creative unit of the department. The Graphics & Creative Unit provides a solid brand visibility through cutting-edge communication design & strategy.
